Counseling Psychology Doctoral Program
Purdue University’s Counseling Psychology Doctoral Program is housed in the Department of Educational Studies in the College of Education. Applications are due in early January of each year for admittance to the following Fall semester’s class. The program admits students from both the Bachelor’s and the Master’s. The program is accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association; 750 First Street, NE, Washington, DC 20002; (202) 336-5979, http://www.apa.org/ed/accreditation.
Using a scientist-practitioner training model, the faculty prioritize research. Students learn research skills while working closely with faculty and peers on research teams and participate in publication or national presentations. The program also emphasizes cultural and individual differences (i.e., diversity).
