Discovering and Developing Human Potential in Diverse Learning Environments
Our nationally known faculty are engaged in the discovery, application, and dissemination of new knowledge centered on three key themes: Educating Diverse Learners, STEM Learning and Effective Teaching. Our faculty serve on the editorial boards of premier disciplinary journals, on national review panels, and as leaders and officers of national professional organizations. They are engaged in a variety of initiatives, both basic and applied, that serve our shared mission of discovering and developing human potential in diverse learning environments. Our faculty collaborate with professionals across and beyond Purdue University on a variety of cross-disciplinary research, teaching, and engagement efforts centered on our core mission.
Academic Programs: We offer high quality graduate programs in Counseling Psychology (accredited by the American Psychological Association), Gifted Education, Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations, Educational Psychology & Research Methodology, School Counseling (approved by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs), and Special Education. We also offer an undergraduate program in Special Education. Our graduates work in schools, higher education, and private industry. In 2015 we launch an exciting new undergraduate program: the undergraduate Learning Sciences Major.
