Welcome to the Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations Programs

Master's, educational specialist, and doctoral degree programs in Educational Leadership and in Cultural Foundations as well as NCATE-accredited licensure programs in Educational Leadership are available to graduate students.

Students holding a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and who have a graduate grade index of B or better may be considered for admission to the Graduate School at Purdue University. In addition, the Graduate Record Examination is required for all students applying to any program in Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations. All international applicants must submit GRE and TOEFL scores (a minimum TOEFL score of 550 [paper based] or 213 [computer based] is required) for study toward any graduate degree. Inquiries concerning admission to the Graduate School, fees, and related matters should be directed to the Office of Graduate Studies, College of Education.

Applications received by the following dates will be given priority in the admissions process:

All Doctoral (PhD) applicants - January 15 for Fall Admission

Master's degree and Educational Specialist degree applicants - Rolling Admission

A limited number of graduate assistantships are available within the Department of Educational Studies. Additional assistantships may be available in various administrative offices on campus.

Applications for assistantships and fellowships are accepted for both fall and spring semesters as well as summer school. Prospective students should apply as early as possible. The Office of Graduate Studies may be contacted to answer further questions about degree programs and fellowships. To apply for a teaching assistantship, contact the main office of the Department of Educational Studies. A student must be admitted by the Graduate School before being considered for an assistantship.
