Application Information

As you prepare your application, it is important that you understand the admission policies and procedures of the Department and the Graduate School. The review procedure for an applicant to a graduate degree program is a three-step process and approximately two months are required to process an application.

After your complete application is received, it will be evaluated by the Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations program area. All students must submit recent test scores for the general test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). At this time further documentation of your academic background may be requested (e.g., for students who graduated from a foreign institution of higher education or from a non-accredited college or university in the United States). Those international students whose native language is not English must submit the results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

The application then will be reviewed by the Department of Educational Studies, then the Graduate School of the University. Official notification of admission may only be issued by the Graduate School; no other information concerning the processing of your application may be considered official. Notification of admission from the Graduate School indicates that you may register for classes.

To apply to an Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations Program

  • Complete the Purdue University Graduate Application materials (application, three letters of recommendation, two copies of official transcripts from all colleges and universities previously attended, and a 500 word statement of purpose), and the Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations Supplement.
  • TO FILL OUT THE EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP AND CULTURAL FOUNDATIONS SUPPLEMENT APPLICATION
  • If you have additional questions about program offerings, admission policies, or about when the GRE testing is available, please contact the Office of Graduate Studies. Additionally, the latest Purdue University Bulletin delineates staff, program offerings, and prerequisites, as well as the variety of degrees available.
