The Graduate Educational Psychology program
The Graduate Educational Psychology program offers several degree programs to choose from based on your goals. In addition, with the help of your faculty advisor, you can tailor your plan of study to suit your career goals.

Areas of specialization
Areas of specialization allow you to further customize the program to your individual needs. Degree programs in three specializations allow Educational Studies students to tailor the curriculum to suit their interests. These include:
- Learning, Development, and Motivation
This program focuses on cognitive, motivational and socioemotional aspects of development, as well as on learning in the content areas (e.g., science, mathematics). Faculty and students are actively engaged in research projects that examine how dimensions of learning environments, the home school interface, and cultural diversity, influence development, learning, and motivation.
- Applied Measurement and Research Methods
The focus of this program is on developing and applying methodologies in measurement and research design. Faculty and students conduct applied research in the areas of test development, reliability, validity, test and item bias, and computerized adaptive testing, and specialize in a variety of methods, such as classical test theory, item response theory, and structural equation modeling.
- Gifted and Talent Development
The focus of the program is on developing talent in P-16 students from diverse backgrounds, with special emphasis on talent development in the STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering, and math). Faculty and students are actively engaged in the Gifted Education Resource Institute. The program is internationally recognized and attracts many international scholars.
