General Requirements

Educational Requirements:
Program participants must have a bachelor's degree in a related field. Students come from a variety of educational backgrounds: education, psychology, liberal arts, and many others.

Work Requirements:
During each semester of the academic year, all full-time graduate students are expected to work at least 10 hours per week in some teaching or research-related capacity under the direction of a faculty mentor. Typically, this work includes:

  • Library research
  • Data collection
  • Data analysis
  • Program administration
  • Teaching
  • Preparing presentations for professional conferences
  • Writing papers for professional journals and books

A quarter-time graduate assistantship may satisfy this requirement.
