Ethical Standards

The C&D faculty has adopted the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of the American Counseling Association (1995), the Ethical Standards of Psychologists of the American Psychological Association (1992) and the Specialty Guidelines for the Delivery of Services by Counseling Psychologists (1981) to govern the professional behavior of students and faculty. These ethical standards are introduced, discussed and integrated in all C&D courses and other experiences. It is expected that students, particularly in their client contacts, field practice or intern assignments, research activities, and other experiences involving contact with the public, conduct their work in accord with these ethical codes. Failure to do so can bring faculty censure of the student and/or expulsion from the program.
