The faculty in Counseling & Development adhere to the principles of direct communication. Students who are unhappy with aspects of their courses are urged to communicate this feedback directly to their instructors. C & D faculty are open and responsive to student feedback. Students who are not satisfied after a discussion with a course instructor are to next discuss the issue with their academic advisor, who can can provide information, perspective, and guidance. Students who remain unsatisfied following consultation with their advisors should next consult the Head of the Department of Educational Studies, who will initially consult with course instructor and advisor before addressing concerns.
Course grades may be appealed through the College of Education Appeals Committee. Students should consult their advisors for the procedure for initiating an appeal. Grade appeals must be filed within 30 days of the onset of the next academic semester. Students whose performance is judged as unsatisfactory in the student review have the right to appeal this decision to the Head of the Department of Educational Studies.
