 8 Things Every Graduate Student Needs to Remember:

 1.     your faculty advisor must sign your course requests to register for classes;

 2.     regular registration begins March 15 (Summer/Fall courses) and October 15 (Spring courses);

 3.     delayed registration usually begins 2 weeks before the first day of class, and during this period invoices must be claimed in person at the Bursar, Hovde Hall;

 4.     a $200 late fee is added the first day of class for initial registrations;

 5.     up to 12 credits taken while in post baccalaureate status (including any undergraduate excess credits), which a grade of B" or better, may be considered for use on a plan of study for an advanced degree (subject to approval by your major professor, committee, department, and university);

 6.     courses must be current, less that 5 years old, to be considered for use on a plan of study for an advanced degree (if courses are more than 5 years old--please ask your advisor or the COE Office of Graduate Studies for instructions to establish currency of knowledge and to request a waiver);

 7.     if you do not register for 12 months, the Registrar deactivates your eligibility to register (a new application is needed to restore eligibility to register; please contact the COE Office of Graduate Studies for instructions);

 8.     if you need additional information, begin by asking your faculty advisor to help you.
