Educational Studies Master's Degree

According to the Graduate School, the CPSY program may offer a 30 credit hour general Education/Educational Studies master's degree (MSEd).  To obtain this terminal master's degree, the student must have a GPA of 3.25 and a B or better in each of eight (8) non-practice, content courses (e.g., EDPS 50500, EDPS 61800).  The additional six (6) credit hours must be from courses offered outside the Educational Studies Department (e.g., STAT 50100, PSY 64000).  This degree may be available to a student who leaves the program prior to completing the doctorate and meets the requirements for the degree.  The course selection requires the consensus of the CPSY core faculty.

This degree is awarded only to students who terminate the program. No master's degree is awarded as progress through the program to the doctorate.  Please note that this degree will not qualify the student for licensure to practice counseling.
